TedTalk - How and Why Russia Hacked the U.S. Election

I recently had the fortune of stumbling upon a TedTalk called "How (and Why) Russia Hacked the U.S. Election" by Laura Galante. It was surprisingly an unbiased piece about the effects of hacking in an age of information. Considering how volatile politics are lately, it's nice to see a well thought piece that isn't a partisan battlefield. I can say for certain my interest in politics have shot through the ceiling over the last two years. In those two years, I have read article after article blaming one side or the other. The hostility in politics these days make me carefully consider every word I say or write, tiptoeing through topics trying not to upset an avid supporter or defender. I discovered the hard way when I pressed a topic to my brother (who shared opposing views) and he got impatient and smacked the ever living shit out of me. Utilizing Augmented Reality in Modern Healthcare

I recently viewed a podcast that really grabbed my attention! It's called "How Augmented Reality Could Change the Future of Surgery" by Nadine Hachach-Haram. She takes the stage and begins to highlight her points in a typical fashion. She noted the shortages of surgeons for common and advanced surgeries. This is where things caught my eye. Instead of an idea to increase the amount of surgeons, she explains a very smooth solution: Augmented reality and remote surgeries. To be honest, this is the first time I've ever heard or considered this as a possibility. With the recent advances in technology and robotics, the medical field has reached a new height of possibilities. Autonomous robots that perform surgeries by themselves, or robotics operating with the assistance of humans have been surfacing in the medical world. Motivations for Corporations to Use Social Media

If you have been paying attention to life in the last 15 years, you will notice that social media is being used by corporations and companies. Most companies in general have a social media of some form up, whether it's twitter, Facebook, Snap-chat etc. Companies may utilize social media differently than others. Small companies such as Brisco County Wood Grill will use social media as a form of advertisement. Promoting different steaks and southwestern specialties, Brisco County uses social media such as Facebook as a tool to promote their service. However, not all companies or corporations use social media for the same purpose. On the complete opposite end of the extreme spectrum, we have Cambridge Analytica. Why I am at MATC

My name is Nicholas Tsioutsiopoulos. I am 27 years old and currently earning my associates degree for Web Design and Programming. In order to explain why I attend MATC, we will have to take a step into my past! I graduated from Greenfield High School in 2009. I took a few years off from school to work. I've worked a variety of jobs from bar tending to management in a restaurant and everything in between. I also was a forklift operator at Sprecher Brewery and a U-Verse Premise Technician at AT&T. After a few years away from school I decided to get back into the swing of things.  Unfortunately, a few years worth of rust and a lack of motivation crippled my GPA, and I quickly spiraled into academic suspension.
